I’m sure you’ve all heard about Barack Obama’s text message announcement of his Vice Presidential running mate Joe Biden late Friday. According to Nielsen, the text message reached almost 3 million people / cell phones.
While there is some debate as to whether the mobile announcement was a success (many news outlets broke the story before the actual deployment of the 26 word text message), there is no doubt that the exercise has brought mobile marketing to the forefront of discussion among political pundits, the advertising community, and most importantly, the broader population.
