Yahoo! Telemundo and The 51 Hour Day
A new report from Yahoo! Telemundo released on March 28 finds that online US Hispanics are “media mavens,” consuming media and adopting new technology at a higher rate than the general population.
The report describes 51 hours of daily activities, which it must be assumed means that these online Hispanics are constantly multitasking, and not that the researchers are bad at math.
The press release said that the report “focused on online Hispanics who regularly consume Spanish language media.” It seems they excluded non-online Hispanics from the sample. So Hispanics who are already online are really into technology, but what of non-online US Hispanics? Actually, Yahoo! probably isn’t as interested in them. It’s still a very interesting report.
One important thing about the report is that it was based on US Hispanics 18-55. This leaves out the under 18 set, who are likely to be even more up to speed on a lot of technology and probably have the energy to actually fit all 51 of those hours into a day.
